20% off Everything to Celebrate National Breastfeeding Week

October 2nd, 2009

To do our little bit for National Breastfeeding Week we are offering 20% off everything from our online shop from October 1st – 9th (inclusive).  WOW!

This offer is valid on all baby products, maternity essentials, new mum bits & bobs, breastfeeding clothes & accessories too. To redeem your 20% discount simply enter the coupon code ‘OfferBF’ at checkout.

National Breastfeeding week is celebrated every year during the first week in October. The significance of this week is that it follows 9 completed months of the year. It therefore represents the end of a pregnancy and the beginning of breastfeeding. This progression from birth to breastfeeding should happen normally and naturally, but for the majority of Irish infants this does not occur and they are therefore deprived of the major nutritional, immunological and psychological benefits which breastfeeding confers.” – Dept. of Health & Children

We’re just back from the La Leche League Conference

March 8th, 2009

We are just home from the La Leche League Conference in Maynooth where we had a stand. It went well and the conference seemed to be a real success. I only went to one talk which was the keynote address from David Coleman on connecting to your children’s emotional world, which was very interesting. David Coleman is a very impressive!

Here is a picture of my three girls at the stand:

WOW Magazine

January 15th, 2009

Five Women Go Back To Work – RTE tuesday nights.

I haven’t actually seen this yet but the second episode aired on tuesday. I asked the hubbie to record it but he recorded something else instead (what is it about men?). I’ve been invited to the launch of the magazine that the 5 women are producing and it is on tonight! I only got the invite yesterday so I’m not going as I’ve my car’s NCT tonight. Which seems like a hotter date? 😉

I’ve an advert coming out in the WOW magazine which comes onto the shelves in February. There will be 300,000 copies printed so they are hoping it is going to sell well. I hope it does for my ad’s sake 🙂

Anyone been following this show? I read some feedback on a forum which said the mentors were being very hard on the ladies.

Website Issues in November

November 26th, 2008

This is my first post to my blog. The past two weeks have been a real rollercoaster in terms of my website’s performance. First of all I started noticing my website becoming really slow about 2-3 weeks ago. It also kept crashing with a script error. A few customers were telling me on the phone about it and I reported it to my hosting provider Register365 aks Namesco. They didn’t take me seriously. I kept phoning and complaining and they finally said they sorted the problem Then on the 17th November things went from bad to worse! The site was totally unworkable.

I enlisted the help of a great guy from Kro.ie who moved my site to a different hosting provider called Blacknight. Then we ran into more problems with security errors and the site crashing. To cut a long story short everything is fine now and the site is zipping along and hopefully the images are loading much faster and the site is more reliable. Our SSL security certificate is installed and we are set for Christmas 🙂

NB: If anyone is setting up a website think carefully about who you choose as your hosting provider. My tip would be to pick a company who’s support is based in Ireland.
